Check out the Union Terrace activities here.
“Mom, this brat tastes like wine”. I’m thinking, “How does he know what wine tastes like?” It did taste beery, that’s for sure.
.Teddy on the terrace, brat in hand. The mandatory mustard, sauerkraut and onions did not fly with him. He’s a ketchup boy all the way. Give him time..
Monday’s rolls…a little stale. Not bad once the kraut juice soaked in.
Loved your article and pictures. Brought back fond memories. Think I will make the olive nut sandwich spread. I had forgotten how good it was. By the way, you look much like your mother. Ruth Hill
Have to add, your mother was a classy looking girl, with long dark hair – which she worn in a shoulder length bob. I have a great picture of her somewhere.
I can’t see the resemblance between my mother and me… Always thought it was Mara who looked like our mother.
Could you find that picture? I’d love to see it.
Thank you!
Lisa
Looking at these pictures is making my mouth water!! I didn’t make it back to lovely Madison this summer 😦 and even though I’ve been to the Union a million times I long to sit in their bright metal chairs, stare out at the lake and eat a brat or some Babcock ice cream. Teddy is one lucky kid!!
